Panelist FAQ

How do I become a panellist?

Simply fill in the Join Our Database form and we will add your details to our database. To ensure that we are able to contact you, please make sure that you give us your mobile phone number and email address.

How will you contact me?

When we are recruiting for a new test, a member of our recruitment team will contact you either by phone, text or email. They may ask you a couple of questions about your eating habits and brands that you use to ensure that you meet the criteria for the test. If you are suitable, they will then offer you a date and time to attend.

We have also started to use an online system to sign up for tests. We email and text panellists who we think are likely to fit the criteria of the test with a link. Simply click on the link and answer the questions to ensure you meet the criteria. If you do, you will be able to choose the date and time that suits you and will receive a confirmation email of your testing time.

Details of some of our tests can also be accessed through our “Campaign” page on our website and our Facebook page. Simply click on the date of the test, and go through the process described above.

Whichever method we use to contact you, you will always receive a confirmation to let you know that you are booked on the test.

How often will I be contacted and able to take part in testing?

We run tests for a range of companies with a vast array of products being tested. People of all different ages and backgrounds are needed. All our tests have specific criteria set by our clients and you will only be contacted if you meet the criteria. The amount of times you are contacted can therefore vary. If you do not want to take part or are not able to participate, you are under no obligation to agree to attend.

How will I know that a text, email or phone call is genuine?

All text messages and calls will come from the following telephone numbers:

– WSS INTL (our centralised text messaging service)

Emails will come from WSS INTL, charrison@wssintl.com or recruitment@wssintl.com – please add these to your contact list to ensure they don’t go into your spam or junk folder.

What happens when I come to the testing centre?

Around 25 panellists attend each test. You should aim to arrive at the centre around 5 minutes before the start of the test. You will be met by one of our testing staff who will have a register of everyone expected to attend. You should give them your name and sit in one of our sensory booths. Our testing staff will give you details of what is being tested and any special instructions. You will then be brought the products and answer a variety of questions about them using our computerised questionnaire system. At the end of the session you will be given your payment.

What if I can’t attend a session I have been booked on?

We need to have a set number of consumers at each test we run otherwise the results are not statistically viable. If you can no longer attend a test, we ask that you contact the person who recruited you as soon as possible and let them know or email recruitment@wssintl.com with your name and phone number and the time of the session you cannot attend.

Panellists who fail to show up for testing 3 times without an explanation will be removed from the database.

What will you do with my details?

Please be assured that your details are held securely and personal data identifying individual panellists will never be used in data analysis.

What do I do if any of my personal details change?

Simply ring us on 0151 346 2996 or email recruitment@wssintl.com and your details will be updated on our database.

What if I wish to unsubscribe from the database?

You can decide to leave the database at any time simply by clicking on unsubscribe with your name and telephone number and it would be helpful if you can tell us why you no longer wish to test with us. If you would like to register again you will need to register your information on our “Join our database” form again.

How do I find out about future testing?

You will be contacted by our recruiters if you are suitable for a test. Alternatively, where we are using our online sign up for a test, you can find the details on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/WSSINTL/ and “Campaign” page on our website link http://www.wssintl.com/campaign/

Where are you based?

For Wirral testing:
We are based in Bromborough Village opposite the Civic Centre / Library – Allport Lane, Bromborough, CH62 7HH. Tel 0151 346 2996. recruitment@wssintl.com. A large free car park is available behind the Co-op supermarket which is opposite our building and there is a bus stop right outside our door.

For Watford testing:
We run tests in Watford, Beechen Grove, Baptist Church, Clarendon Road, Watford, WD17 1JJ. Parking is available across the road from the church in the Harlequin Shopping Centre or Sutton Car Park at the back of the church. Tel 0151 346 2996. recruitment@wssintl.com
